Well, half a day actually, because I had a hard time waking up Deardear. T_T
We left the house at around 4plus to meet the photographer @ Balestier to get our pictures! But, he was late, so we walked around first. Bought tickets to Step Up 2 The Streets @ Shaw Plaza. We thought the tickets were gonna be cheaper but no...it was $9.50 each. Damn.
We had a light lunch at
MacDonald's. Then, Deardear decided that he wanted to catch the midnight movie as well, An Empress and Her Warrior, because it's the kind of movie that he likes. But then again, we realised that we will have almost 3 hrs of free time between the time the first movie ends and the time the midnight movie starts. So, Deardear decided to watch ANOTHER movie in between. And I chose Be Kind Rewind. Cos it just sounds like the kind of movie that I'd like.
Then the photographer arrived and we walked to his car to get the pictures. Turns out that he is holding HIS wedding dinner tonight! Like, OMG, I felt SO bad that we were kind of rushing him to finish our photos. I had no idea.. But he wasn't done with the editing, so we only have like half of the finished photos developed. But it's OK, because I got to see the photos and I LOVE it! I look kinda awful in some of the photos but most of the time, I looked great! Hee. Love it love it love it! So, now we'll just wait PATIENTLY for him to enjoy his wedding and honeymoon and to finish our photos. =)
After that, we walked back to Shaw Plaza to catch our 1st movie,
Step Up 2 the Streets. I've watched the first
Step Up and I loved it~ Love to see the dancing.
This sequel, though not as good as the first one, wasn't so bad actually. Lots of eye candy and a breathtaking finale dance in the rain. The MAIN reason I wanted to watch this movie was because of the dancing. The acting is so-so. But the dancing is awesome!
My favourite scene was when the 410 crew saw the clip posted by the MSA crew. It includes a dead fish. Darn funny. Watch and you'll see what I mean.
My favourite character has got to be Moose, played by
Adam G. Sevani. His dancing is sick! And even though he looked nerdy, he was damn HOT when he was dancing.
*fans self* Look at what I mean.
Isn't that HOT?? I love to see him dance and he's so CUTE!
Anyway, I'd rate this movie a
3.5/5.
After the movie ended, we went for toilet break, Deardear has his smoke break and we bought popcorn. =D
The next movie we caught was
Be Kind Rewind. What a disappointment. =( I kept hearing this show being promoted on 98.7FM. I thought the movie plot was funny and fresh. But the actual movie was just kinda flat.. I love Jack Black but he was really annoying and not-so-funny in this show.
-sigh- But the movie does have some funny moments.
Like this scene.
Jerry: [sung, poorly, to the tune of the Ghostbusters theme song] When you're walkin' down the street...
Jerry: [singing] ... and you see a little ghost...
Jerry: [singing] ... whatcha gonna do about -
[more out of tune]
Jerry: Ghostbusters?
Mike: What? What is that?
Jerry: That's the Ghostbusters theme song.
Mike: No.
Jerry: I'm pretty sure it is.
Like...LOL!
I rate this movie a
2/5.
After that, we caught the movie,
An Empress and the Warriors. I've never even heard of this film before...there wasn't much promotion for it. But it was GOOD!
And it had Donnie Yen! I absolutely love him!
The only thing that spoiled the movie though, was Kelly Chen's speech. Her acting was good but her speech was NOT. She sounded very forced and unnatural. Just not suitable for a period drama. It just kinda ruined the movie for me. GREAT acting though. One of the things I love about HongKong movies is that their acting is normally better than some Hollywood movies but that's just what I think.
The movie made me cry...some scenes were just so sad.
Like the scene where Donnie Yen's army shields him from the bad guy's army and died for him.
Another scene was when Donnie Yen was ALONE against thousands of soldiers on the battlefield and he just kept slashing and fighting and not giving up.
If you are the soldier on the battlefield and you stabbed him with a spear, he will slash and stab you back with his sword and made sure you die. One word: FIERCE!
I don't have any videos though. Can't find them. And of course, no secret that my favourite character is Murong Xue Hu, played by Donnie Yen. The poor thing was in love with the princess but she has always just looked upon him as a brother. At least he got to see her kill the bad guy before he died.
Well, I give this movie a
4/5.
After our movie marathon, we went for supper at Boon Tong Kee, cause Deardear never tried it before. =) I missed their Crispy Beancurd. But the chicken wasn't that nice though. We wanted to try this Bak Kut Teh store too, but decided not to, cause we were full already. It was called the Founder Bak Kut Teh Restaurant and we noticed that it was always full of people every time we were outside the shopping centre. But, maybe we'll try it another day.
End of the day. It was an awesome day, love to spend time with my hubby. =)
It seems so surreal, that I'm married already.
Nothing much have changed, just an extra ring on my finger. Haha. =P
Got to have my dinner.
I'm out.
