I have a love hate relationship with weekends. On one hand, I am usually bloody glad that the week is over, and I get to have 2 rest days. But on the other hand, sometimes I get awakened by phone calls regarding work. That really sucks, especially when I wanna sleep in late. =(
Anyway…the previous Sat, we went cycling! It was a last minute decision, Sis called in the early afternoon to jio us. Mr Toh and me then went for lunch and prepared to go out. We cabbed to Pasir Ris so I can rent a bicycle first, then cycled to Sis’s house to drop off our overnight bag. And off we go! But after setting off, Sis realised her front tyre was kinda ‘lao hong’, so we stopped at the nearby Shell to pump air….but we ended up releasing even more air and the whole tyre was flat! Even called Godpa to ask, but the 3 of them tried, end up also cannot work… So we were left with no choice, and Sis and Ray cycled back to Sis’s house to use the air pump at her home while we waited at Shell.
We cycled to Changi V again! This time, we only had chwee keuh and drinks, then we continued on to East Coast. Had a yummy dinner at the hawker centre~ Mr Toh bought the famous satay beehoon…and he queued for damn long lor! Everyone else had finished buying their food and he was still not back yet, even though he was the first to go.
And we learned that buying canned drinks from the stall in the centre of the hawker centre costs $0.20 more than the stalls at the sides. Like…what the fish..
After dinner, we went to this lagoon where people were water skiing, where they were on these boards that was operated and pulled by machines! I was so amazed to see that…haha, so suaku!!
We then cycled back home… Really really enjoyed the cycling trip this time. I felt more confident, and not to mention that I have the cute pink gloves Mr Toh bought for me from Taiwan! So no blisters this time around! Wee~
Last Saturday, we went to Mom’s place, and after that, bro fetched us to Grandma’s house. Been a while since we last visited…we really must make an effort to visit her more often.
After that, due to Mr Toh and me being utterly boliao, we caught My Girlfriend is an Agent. It is super funny!! Eric recommended it..and since there wasn’t any other shows, we decided to give this a try.
Soo-ji and Jae-joon were once a couple until Jae-joon could not take her lies anymore. Years later, they meet each other again and the situation is changed. A Russian organized crime syndicate sets out to steal an advanced chemical weapon from Korea and two secret agents from separate departments are assigned to stop them. Soo-ji is a veteran secret agent who has mastered all forms of martial arts, and Jae-joon is a rookie cop and always goofs up on the job. While the two work out their relationship, they go behind each others backs to fulfill their mission to save the world!
Very funny and entertaining show! Great acting too. Highly recommended for a cheer-me-up movie! And can I just say that I love the heels the female lead is wearing in the poster?? Haha~!
Sunday, we caught Astro Boy! We even bought the popcorn combo that comes with a free Astro Boy cup! Cute!
A thrilling tale of a true hero, Astro Boy is an all-new, feature film full of action, adventure, humor and heart. It will be brought to life on the big screen in breathtaking CGI animation on October 23rd, 2009. Set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist named Tenma (Nicolas Cage). Powered by positive blue energy, Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore) is endowed with super strength, x-ray vision, unbelievable speed and the ability to fly. Embarking on a journey in search of acceptance, Astro Boy encounters many other colorful characters along the way. Ultimately learning his friends and family are in danger, Astro Boy marshals his awesome super powers and returns to Metro City in a valiant effort to save everything he cares about and to understand what it takes to be a hero.
I felt that this movie was kind of more for kids. Very PG, you know? But it was still an enjoyable movie. And there were some parts that was so sad…that I teared. =(
I was never interested in Astro Boy, so I didn’t know much about the story, but after watching the movie, I felt that Astro Boy very kelian…
All in all, it was a chillax weekend for us…hee.
