I got a can of abalone from office before CNY, thanks Eric!!! He also gave us ang bao when we started work~ This year, Mommy, Eric, Big Boss, Mr Goh and one of my uncles gave me angbao. Heehee.
And yesterday, we lao yu sheng in the office and some people made a BIG mess. But it was crazier when we lao yu sheng at Grandpa's house on the 7th day of CNY, hands were sticky and some people lost their chopsticks. Lol!
I also won $50 from the office lucky draw~~ Wee, so lucky~ But too bad I didn't have a share of the $10million Toto draw yesterday. Only 'tio' 2 numbers and tio chiak. *bleah*
Recap of our quiet CNY.
Day 1 - 14/02/10SOMEONE woke up late because he went cycling the previous night. We had to go to my sister-in-law's house @ AMK for my brother's marriage ceremony!
As it was the first day of CNY, they decided to only have the ceremony on this day and to have the lunch on the next Sunday (21/02/10). It was a short ceremony, and my da-sao looked gorgeous!
Caught True Legend at TM with Dad and auntie later that night~
So Chan (Vincent Chiu) was a wealthy man obsessed with kung-fu who fell from grace after he and his family became the victims of conspiracies. Eventually, he rises from his compromised state as a beggar and transforms himself into a martial arts master, patriot and folk hero, honoured as the "King of Beggars". [Source]
Average show...story line very similar to Huo Yuan Jia. Awesome fighting scenes. And it was nice to see Vincent Zhao after his long absence from movies~
We just lazed around at home on Day 2.
Day 3, we caught Little Big Soldier with Dad and auntie again~~ The whole family went to Bangkok on a holiday, only leaving us in Singapore. Lol..
A footsoldier and a general from rival states become the only survivors of a war. As they are both pursued by the general's brother who would kill anyone for the throne, the footsoldier considers betraying the general for the ticket home. [Source]
Pretty funny show...I enjoyed it more than the True Legend.
Saturday - 20/02/10We had steamboat for lunch @ Mommy's house! Got abalone too! Yummy~~~~~ We also bought a piece of salmon from NTUC and lao yu sheng! Dinner, we went back to Grandpa's house as everyone was gathered there. Also lao yu sheng. Every year, someone's chopsticks were bound to go missing, lol! It was a busy and bloated day. T_T
Sunday - 21/02/10SOMEONE woke up late, because he went gaming the previous night, even when I had reminded him that we had to go for my brother's wedding the next day! *angry*
It was a noisy affair....and I realised I am really getting old! All my cousins are so big already!! Been so long since I last saw them...
A little drama happened...as my sister-in-law's mom fainted during the lunch...she was suffering from exhaustion, I think, as they were busy preparing the food throughout the night. Thankfully, it was nothing too serious, she just needed to eat something and rest.
I loved my da-sao's dress on this day! A tube dress with a puffy tulle skirt! Cute!
I am very happy for my brother, as he has been with his gf for more than 5 yrs already, I think. And he has shown that he has *finally* matured. Haha! Wishing them everlasting love and happiness together!
Going over Mommy's place tonight as Mommy is hosting a buffet lunch for my relatives in honor of my brother and da-sao.
We will need to borrow an ice box from Dad, and he asked for Mr Toh's bicycle in exchange! *gasp* Dad is a smart business man!
We are the helpers for the day, and Mommy specifically asked Mr Toh not to be late! Haha! So we might as well stay over tonight, that way we don't need to waste the time traveling and Mr Toh can sleep more! Win-win situation!
On our way to Ubin right now for the cycling race!
Mr Toh woke me up early this morning, he didn't sleep at all, as he's afraid he can't wake up in time. He woke me up at 7am and I was awake by 7.05am. If our roles were switched, he'd only be awake by 8am! Piggy!!
Anyway, when we were preparing to go out, he commented that he's not sure if he can 'tahan' till 3pm. I misheard him as saying he's not sure if he knows the way into the race venue @ Ubin, so I replied him, "Can ask people ma, or the shop uncle." He was truly confused and asked me, "Oh, so I can ask the uncle: Uncle, you think I can 'tahan' till 3pm?" My turn to be confused..then I realised I heard wrongly. LOL! I think the uncle might reply, "Aiyo, young man, see you so young and fit, no problem lah!" Hahhahaha...
We had actually decided to ride our bikes there...but Mr Toh changed his mind at the last minute. We'll just rent bicycles there, I guess.
Reaching Tampines, will stop here. Update again!
